Ctrl + K also known as Control + K is a keyboard shortcut that has different functions depending on different programs. In some programs, it is used to insert a hyperlink whereas in some browsers it is used to directly move to the search bar.
How to use the Ctrl + K?
One needs to press and hold the "Ctrl" key on the keyboard and press the "K" key with it.
In Apple Mac, one needs to press "Command + K".

- Ctrl + K in Outlook:
In Microsoft Excel, if you choose to press the "Ctrl + K" key, it will insert a hyperlink to the current cell.
In Microsoft Word, Ctrl + K lets you insert a hyperlink to the selected text.
In all the major browsers (e.g. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera), the Ctrl + K key is used to move the writing pan to the search bar. Press the "Ctrl + K" key to directly move to the search bar.
However, in Internet Explorer, the Ctrl + K will open a duplicate tab of your current tab.
In Microsoft Outlook, Ctrl + K is used to complete a name or email address being typed, and "Ctrl + Shift + K" is used to start a new task.
