How to delete Instagram Account

1 Go to Instagram.com.

Use any browser on your mobile or desktop to visit Instagram.com and log-in to your account.

2 Click on your profile picture icon in the top right corner.

3 Go to settings.

In the new window, you will find the "Settings" option. Clicking on it will take you to all the settings related to your account.

4 Scroll down and click on temporarily disable my account.

The first section that will open in front of you will be "Edit profile".

In this section, scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will find the option "Temporarily disable my account".

5 Choose a reason and enter the password.

After clicking the option "Temporarily disable account", you will be directed to the next page and Instagram would ask you the reason to disable your account.

Just select one from the drop-down list and enter your password to continue.

6 Click on the "Temporarily disable account" button.

Click on the "Temporarily disable account" button and your account will be de-activated for as long as you choose.

You can again activate your account whenever you choose by just entering your username and password.

Instagram will ask you the reason why are you leaving and ask you to re-enter your password. After that, you will get to delete your account permanently.

If you choose to delete your account permanently, Instagram will delete all your information. That username will no longer be available on Instagram and all your data will be flushed. You can never log-in to that account again, nor re-activate it. It will be a good idea to save any important posts from your profile before choosing to delete your account.
